Published on 23 June 2022
The Belgian Comics Strip Center opens a participatory workshop and invites you to submit your application.
Are you a comic book author?
Do you have a project in progress?
Are you looking for a warm and exciting place to work?
The BCSC invites you to submit your application (https://forms.gle/3toJJf1SKJhrXtkX8) to join its Comics Workshop: the Printing House.
Located on Boulevard de Berlaimont 56 in the heart of Brussels, the Printing House will open its doors to you from 01/09/2022 to 31/08/2023.
Thus, for a full year, 8 authors will have the opportunity to work on their respective projects in a furnished space partially equipped (scanner and printer) with everything necessary for the creation and realisation of a comic book project.
Practical information
To be part of this adventure, candidates are not subject to any restrictions on age, years of activity or publications.
However, they will have to send, by 15 July 2022, an application file including:
- A Curriculum Vitae
- An exhaustive and varied portfolio (or website/Instagram account) allowing to perceive the extent of the graphic palette of the authors.
- A description of the project(s) on which the candidates will work during the workshop. This description must contain at least a note of intent for the project and may be enhanced by a pitch, a synopsis, as well as some graphic research and/or plates (pencilled or inked).
- A letter of motivation of one page maximum in which the candidates explain why they want to join the workshop, what they want to bring to this experience and the benefits they hope to gain from it.
After receiving the applications, a selection will be made by an eclectic jury representative of the comics world.
