General terms and conditions

These general terms and conditions apply to the non-profit organization Belgian Comic Strip Center, known as Comic Art Museum Brussels, whose head office is located at Rue des Sables 20, 1000 Brussels, Belgium, and which is registered under company number BE 0430.941.504. 

The Comic Art Museum Brussels operates in the cultural and tourism sectors. 

1. General

All visitors of the Comic Art Museum Brussels are subject to these general terms and conditions. Exceptions require written confirmation.

2. Admission

Article 1. Purchase of tickets

Tickets can be bought on the website or at the entrance of the museum.

Article 2. Admission fees

Comic Art Museum Brussels publishes admission prices through its own channels, on the website, at the museum entrance and through direct communication. The prices listed here are not subject to change or dynamic pricing. Comic Art Museum Brussels cannot be held responsible for the (incorrect) publication of admission prices by third parties.

Article 3. Discount on admission fees

Visitors can benefit from a reduced admission price if they meet the applicable conditions. Museum staff may ask for identification for the reduced admission price. If the visitor is unable to show identification, or if the identification is invalid, the normal admission price will be charged.

Article 4. Refund or compensation

A visitor who has purchased an admission ticket is not entitled to a refund or compensation in case of loss or theft of the ticket. Once purchased, tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded. 

Article 5. Ticket

Once payment has been accepted, the ticket will be sent to the e-mail address provided during the booking process, in PDF format.

Article 6. Rebooking tickets

If you want to change your online ticket to another date, you can do so via the rebooking link you receive when you make your purchase. 

If you wish to transfer your ticket to another person in the same price category, please send an e-mail to tickets@stripmuseum.be. Please note, this may incur an administration fee.

Tickets purchased on site cannot be rebooked.

3. OPENING HOURS

Article 1. Opening hours

Comic Art Museum Brussels communicates its opening hours through its own channels, such as its website, at the museum entrance and through direct means of communication. It should be noted that the museum reserves the right to change these opening hours without refunding visitors who have already bought their admission tickets (a later date is suggested). The museum accepts no responsibility for the (incorrect) publication of timetables by third parties.

Article 2. Accessibility

Part of the museum may be closed to visitors at certain times. This does not entitle you to a refund of the entrance fee. When a significant part of the museum area is closed to visitors, a notice will be published on the website and at the entrance.

4. VISITS

Article 1. Conduct

Visitors must behave according to the standards of public order and current regulations, always in accordance with the instructions of museum staff. Failure to comply may result in refusal of entry, without entitlement to a refund of the admission fee or other charges.

Article 2. Responsibility of minors

Parents or guardians of minors are responsible for their children's behaviour. In the case of organised group visits, the supervisors of these groups are responsible for the minors' behaviour. 

Article 3. Mobility

Comic Art Museum Brussels is accessible to pushchairs, scooters for visitors with a disability, wheelchairs, etc. Vehicles may not be parked in front of the museum but only in the parking spaces provided. 

Article 4. Handbags/backpacks/personal objects

The museum areas are accessible with small backpacks or handbags. Large backpacks, bags or other luggage can be left at the reception desk or in the lockers. The definition of what is large or small is left to the discretion of museum staff. Comic Art Museum Brussels is not responsible for damage, loss or theft of personal items by visitors.

Article 5. Bag inspection

Museum staff may request an inspection of a visitor's bag for security reasons, or if there is any suspicion of theft or damage in the museum.

Article 6. Smoking, eating and drinking

It is forbidden to smoke, eat or drink in any part of the museum, with the exception of the Brasserie Horta for food and drink.

Article 7. Pets

Pets are not allowed, with the exception of assistance dogs.

5. COMPLAINTS

If a visitor has a complaint about the application of these conditions, it may be addressed in writing to visit@stripmuseum.be. Comic Art Museum Brussels will respond to complaints within 30 working days.

6. LIABILITY AND FORCE MAJEURE

Article 1. Liability

Comic Art Museum Brussels accepts no responsibility for injury to a visitor or loss or damage to a visitor's property, except in cases of intentional injury or gross negligence attributable to the museum. Damage or injury in that case will be compensated up to the amount insured by the museum or the amount for which it could reasonably be insured. Any compensation cannot exceed the loss determined by the museum's insurer.

Article 2. Force majeure

Service disruptions due to force majeure can never be attributed to Comic Art Museum Brussels and do not entitle you to any refund or compensation.
